Tribute Lunch 4th July 2015

The school and the Alumni Association welcomed a total of 200 guests consisting of SMC members, retired teachers, senior staff members & ex-students back to the school compound on the 4th July 2015. “Living The Legacy, Sowing Seeds of the Future” was the theme for this Tribute Lunch and we had a heart warming event for both teachers and ex-students alike.

Guests started streaming in at 11am and by 12noon, we saw a hall full of guests, filled with excitement, laughter and conversations. For the next 3 hours, we had the pleasure of having Andie Chen and his brothers, all of whom are Nan Hua Pri Sch Alumnus hosting the event. We had a memorable group photo taking session and we also heard touching speeches paying tribute to teachers who contributed tirelessly to the education of the next generation as well as ex-Nan Hua students who honoured and respected our teachers – true to the teachings of the school motto, displaying great example for the rest.

One of the most touching moment during the event was to have the honour of a retired teacher, 邬惠贞老师 who is going to be 100 years old this year attending our event. She used to teach in the old Bencoolen Campus and is joined by a number of her peers who are in their 90s and 80s.

A special video montage was also especially aired to show our gratitude for this special group of people, this was made possible with contributions from our teachers with their recent photos and words of wisdom. We also enjoyed a special Guzheng performance by Xiaowei, our ex-student as well as an exciting Game segment.

It was certain that friendships were rekindled among the teachers themselves and between ex-classmates and schoolmates, words of gratitude and thanks were said many times from ex-students to their teachers. It was certain that everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest during this fruitful gathering which will be just the prelude to the 100th year anniversary celebration coming up in 2017.
